A Crock of Schmidt

Single-handedly solving nothing

My Life Is A Song #7

Shoe Countdown #7

Last week I told you how “Helpless” was my go to song when I was hitting bottom.  Once that song had worked its magic and I was feeling a bit better about the whole situation, I would then turn to what I suppose is a more optimistic turn on the subject of teenage heartbreak.  It took an awful long time for this song to prove true in my case, but it eventually did, as I’d always hoped it would.  All the more reason for it to remain a favourite of mine.  It’s also a pretty good rock song.

I’m kicking of the weekend with “Even The Losers Get Lucky Sometimes” from Damn The Torpedoes, the 1979 album from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

I listen to Neil Young’s Live at Massey Hall 1971 album at least once a week and Helpless is easily my favourite song on it.

Excellent. It is a fantastic version which is saying something considering how great the CSNY version is.

Sorry for taking so long to approve your comment. I didn’t get a notification that it even existed for some reason.
