My Life Is A Song #21

Shoe Countdown #21

To this day I find it remarkable that it took me into my thirties before I realized that “Every Breath You Take” was a song about stalking.  I mean, it was a staple of school dances in the 80s.  Nobody seemed to think it was anything but romantic back then.  Or maybe I was even more naïve than I realized.

Anyway, that’s not my favourite Police song.  This one is.

I came up with playlist months beforehand and honestly positioned this song here randomly.  Considering I’m now two weeks into my stint of having no kids around for 6 ½ hours a day I hope I wasn’t subconsciously predicting my state of mind by this time.  Ah well, despite its depressing theme, this song still works for me.  Let’s kick off the weekend with “So Lonely” from the 1978 debut from The Police, Outlandos D’Amour.
