A Crock of Schmidt

Single-handedly solving nothing

My Life Is A Song #24

Shoe Countdown #24

The legend that is The Captain and The Elmo is impossible to explain in the relatively short form prose that is a blog.  It’s also impossible to explain in longer form prose.  This likely explains why nobody has tried.

Pop Culture is riddled with iconic buddy duos.  Starsky and Hutch, Bandit and Snowman, Bill and Ted, Bob and Doug, Bo and Luke, Batman and Robin.  You get the idea.  You also get the sense I haven’t watched TV or a Movie since 1993.  Anyway, all these duos pale in comparison to the great Captain and Elmo.  One day I may endeavor to record their legend for posterity.  Until then, I can only give you a song that encapsulates their prowess on the karaoke stage.

In honour of The Captain’s upcoming birthday, I’m kicking off your weekend country style with “Good Hearted Woman”, the Waylong Jennings and Willie Nelson duet version, from the infamous 1976 release Wanted: The Outlaws.
