A Crock of Schmidt

Single-handedly solving nothing

My Life Is A Song #74

Prelude Countdown #74

I don’t think I have a story to share with this song.  Not all songs need a story, I suppose.  It’s a great song.  Perhaps that is enough.  If I were to write anything here to make this post longer than a Tweet, I guess I would question why any woman would willingly go by the nickname “Juice”.  There’s no end to the eyebrow-raising such a decision inspires.

I’m kicking off your weekend with the winner of the coin toss between Juice Newton’s two biggest hits for which she’s universally known.  The loser, a great song in its own right, was “Angel of the Morning”.  The winner?  “Queen of Hearts”, from her 1981 breakout album Juice.  Again, why?
